- PADT
PADT has a long relationship with ASU. Three of the four owners receiving degrees from ASU and one is currently an instructor in the Manufacturing Engineering Department. The company also chose to make its home in the ASU Research Park in Tempe. The company supports students by giving frequent tours to engineering and industrial design classes, guest lecturing on topics such as mechanical simulation or rapid prototyping, and offering internships to those qualified.
PADT looks for areas of common need and interest with ASU. A good example is the company’s long term involvement in the Partnership for Research in Spatial Modeling, or PRISM program. PADT has made a similar commitment to the Center for Applied NanoBioscience, and is actively talking with leaders in other bioengineering and alternative energy groups. More recently, the company has participated in ASU’s Angel Investing program, ATIF, with two investments in ASU related technology companies.
